I got my teen Samsung Galaxy S9 running Android 8. I want to prevent him from making changes to settings. For example, I don't want him to make changes to location services. Is there a way to do that?

Thank you. First swipe down and select settings. When in settings go to users. In there you can add users and what can be accessed. Hope this helps.

You should treat it like the computer that it is. Follow the above advice. I don't know your childs age but a parental control setting and app can be useful.

Remember one thing - kids, even young teens, usually know more about cellphones than their parents do - and if they don't, they have friends who do. Anything you can set, your teen or his/her friends can unset. If you can't trust the child with a cellphone, don't get him/her one yet. (I've found that the best way to keep them trustworthy is a little talk. "You're trusting that they'll use the phone properly, etc., so you're giving them the phone." That kind of talk. Some of them will still maintain that they don't need you knowing where they are all the time, so they';re turning location off. In that case, you've got more than phone problems. [And Id reverse he talk to "Well, if I can't trust you with the phone, you can't have a phone - it's that simple."] Then prepare for World War 3. The time for preparing them to use a cellphone is about the age of 5 - when they can have a kid's phone that they can't change much on. They get used to having a phone, and to using it your way. Then they get older and can have a real adult phone - if they stick to the rules.)
