Android Central Question

Hi so I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 i9505 and it is beginning to die. There is a sim card reboot error that occurs once every while. I have tried swapping the sim and the error is still there. I have tried wiping cache. I even replaced the simcard tray part. I have tried updating to lollipop and tried downgrading. I think the actual connector chip is dead since phone gets really hot. Any ideas how to keep my S4 running for another 5 years? What reputation does Samsung have in this day and age? Have they improved much from the Note 7 epidemic or are they still producing Portable GTX 480s.

First, the phone is 5 years old - a few things are probably going bad.

Second, after years of nothing but Samsungs (notes and earlier ones), not looking at anything but phone with external SD cards (and removable batteries, which seem to be living with the Dodos), even seriously looking at the Note 8, I went with a Pixel 2. Fast updates, good customer service and a pretty good phone.

I can't ell you which phone would be best for you, but for me it's not a Samsung any longer.
