Stop popping sound on Facebook when liking a post

[Android Central Question]

I have recently upgrade to a Samsung Galaxy S9+ and now whenever I like something on Facebook, there is a popping sound. I have searched through this forum, and Googled to no avail. I do not have a 'sounds' setting in Facebook, nor do I have this in my app settings on the phone. Notification sounds are already disabled. But I still get this popping sound. Help please!?!

On my Pixel 2 XL, I can go into the app, tap the menu button (3 stacked lines in the horizontal line of icons at the top toward the right), scroll down to Settings & Privacy, tap app settings. In there is a setting to disable sounds in the app.

I have an S7 and if I don't want the popping sound, on your phone, toggle the volume rocker and turn "Media" off.

Have you figured this out yet? It took me a while but it was under the three lines at the top> settings> media settings> in app sounds

I figured this out a while back. At first they didn't give you an option on the mobile browsers, but now they do.

For GS9 the setting is under Settings, Media & Contacts, Sounds in app, then switch off
