Hello, I just received a used S7 I bought on eBay and it appears the seller did not do a hard reset. There Netflix is still working and messenger. I haven't looked into any other apps because I don't care. I just want to hard reset the phone and start out with a clean phone, but after viewing some YouTube videos it seems that I cannot do this without having her password and or email account.
Could someone please tell me what I need to ask the seller to do in order for me to hard reset the phone. Thank you

If the phone is currently working ok, then you are in luck. If you want to reset it, first go into the phone's settings and sign out any and all Google accounts. This way when you reset it, the factory reset protection will not trip and you can log back in without issue.

The problems with resetting and needing the last person's email is if they reset the phone before they signed out of their Google account. This reset protection prevents thieves from being able to reset and use a phone.
