I have a Samsung j5 2017 but will not auto connect while in my pocket

I assume you're talking about Bluetooth? If so, that's not entirely surprising. My iPhone 8 Plus connects, but I hear tons of interference while on calls unless the phone is out of my pocket. There's just too much material - mostly your body and clothing - between the two Bluetooth sensors.
