Why is my android friend not able to send a reply when send her a text from my iPhone?

[Android Central Question]

I sent a photo to my friend on her android from my iPhone and now the only way she is able to send me replies is through a group message. It shows it trying to send the reply and then bounces back saying unable to send. She used to have an iPhone and my phone still recognizes hers as an iPhone, yet so does our other friends iPhones. Very frustrated and confused as to how to fix this. I did remove & add her to my contacts, but that did not clear the situation. Thank you for your suggestions!

It sounds like the former iPhone owner needs to de-register from the iMessage service: https://selfsolve.apple.com/deregister-imessage/

I have never had an iPhone and I have the same problem with one contact who has an iPhone. Other iPhone contacts do not have this problem.
