    When I delete all messages and try to send a message to this person, it does the same thing. It will convert so MMS and send the message to my recipient as well as my old number. The person who has my old number now is running out of patience HELP!

    1. In your texting app, in Settings,. find a setting that either talks about breaking up texts or sending them as MMS. You want texts not sent as MMS or to be broken up. (If they're longer than 140 octets - 160 characters in this alphabet, 80 in some others - they have to be sent as individual 140 octet texts or as an MMS.)

    2, As for the old number thing, go to your carrier and explain the situation to them. They can see where in the system that's happening. (About the only way I can see it could happen not in the carrier's system is if you have a Google Voice number, and have the old number and the new number in that account as phones to forward texts to. That would be working the way it's being told to work.)
