    Hello,

I got a really cheap BLU Advance 5.0 here and the most annoying thing is that it constantly runs out of space. I already added a 16GB SD card but as you might imagine that doesn't solve the problem.

When I go into Settings>Storage and scroll down all the way it says:

    Total space: 4.00GB
    Total available: 248MB
    System 683MB

    Where are the 3000MB?

Bear in mind I have 5 apps on the phone that take up roughly 400MB.

To find where the "missing 3000MB" are, you'd have to root the phone, then (running a terminal app) see how storage is partitioned. userdata is the only partition you have access to, and that's probably about 600MB. The rest of the storage is recovery, system data, maybe a system cache partition - different manufacturers partition storage differently. But a 5 year old phone is barely usable as a phone with contacts today. The minimum total storage in mid-2018 should be 32GB. For a small, cheap phone.

Welcome to Android Central! The OS and bloatware typically take up about 3 GB, so a 4 GB phone will have about 1 GB or less of free space available for app installation.

I'm not quite sure what the 683 MB for "System" is. It's definitely not how much the OS takes up -- as I mentioned above, that's always at least 3 GB. It might mean additional data that system apps have accumulated.

Never expect to install many apps on a 4 GB phone -- there's just not much space available.
