Android Central Question

I use a Google Pixel 2 XL and I can't find a usb-USB-C adapter (USB-a male) which works for data transfer. I bought some which....sometimes work...sometimes don't, and looking at reviews on amazon, despite product descriptions, there is a host of reviews for all I've found which say it doesn't work or won't work consistently for data transfer, let alone reasonable charging speeds.

Is there a company/model that anyone can suggest which gives at least normal charging speeds and consistent data transfer? I use my phone for video editing and need to do a lot of regular data transfer.

I'll have to try it when I get home, but I have a cable from iOrange-e (bought through Amazon) that may do the trick. I don't have a Windows computer at home but I bring one home from work (where I don't have one of the cables) so I can try connecting to my Windows computer from work to see if I can access the files.

Thanks for the links and info. Sadly I'm looking for a short adapter to toss in with my other equipment, both for just carrying with my normal cord (where size doesn't matter so much) but also for backpacking with my power bank where a 6' cable is just way too much (preferably 6" or a plug only adapter).
