I've got a version 4.4.4 Moto G. The background Facebook process has been running for 934:34:58. I don't know wether force stopping it will do anything permanent.

Also, should I get rid of the Facebook accounts (katana and orca) that's in the device account settings, or will that just log me out so I have to log in again on the app?

Like I knew they were collecting data, but with everything that's gone on I think I should take more precautions.

They're not collecting any new data apart from your interaction with the app.

It's not like it's going to change if you still use FB.

The only difference uninstalling FB will do is you'll have to use the mobile site and it would save battery. But if you still use it, it won't make a difference. Either get off FB or limit your interaction to save battery. But don't think it will change what data about you is collected.
