Android Central Question

Hi on old phones I've always been able to tick proximity sensor to stop it vearing off into a world of it's own. I've had a J5 for some time, can't wait to upgrade,as always Samsung seem to have a few ongoing glitches, the above being one of them. My loud speaker isn't brill so need to have my phone up against my ear, it flicks onto flight mode etc. How the hell do I sort proximity sensor or is it something else, it's so annoying hearing people ask what I do with my phone, not me guys! Thankyou in advance.

The proximity sensor should shut the screen off when you put the phone to your ear, stopping all further action from the screen. If the screen stays on when it's against your ear, the proximity sensor is bad. Since the phone is no longer under warranty, you have to learn to get around that or pay to have it fixed.
