Android Central Question

I need some expertise on a Phone question that is rattling my brain :

I have a 32 GB Samsung S7 Active

well, it's showing under my Device maintenance ( Storage ) is showing 31.8 GB is used , BUT ......... the total of all my Videos , Pictures and Documents only shows roughly 8 GB used ( as a Total )

Where is the other 24 GB being used ?

I know the Apps I use can't Total 24 GB

Is there a way I can see where every GB is allocated on my phone ?

Welcome to Android Central!

The system (OS) takes up some of that storage, and so do apps and cached app data.

When I look at storage stats in my Galaxy S9 Plus, I see Documents, Images, Audio, Videos and Apps. It also tells me that there's 682 MB of "unnecessary data," which I'm assuming is cached app data that I can live without.

Try clearing app cache and look at the statistics again.
