Why does my phone not receive all of the text messages that I get sent?

I'm currently not receiving all of the text messages that people are sending me, very few of them get through. I've tried various things such as a restart, resetting the APN settings and contacting my provider, but none of those solutions have worked.

The strangest thing is that when I was testing sending texts to my phone with a friend, the phone screen flashed like it had received a notification, however no notification was there and the texts did not display in the default messaging app or the other messages app I have from Google.

Does anyone have a solution to this issue?

My phone is a Huawei P10 running Android 7.0 and even though receiving text messages is not working calls and mobile data is.

Hmm, strange. You mentioned that you've tried more than one SMS app -- was that other one Android Messages, or have you also tried 3rd party ones like Textra?
