Android Central Question

Hello. I have an OPPO A83. There has been this instance where face unlock and passcode did not work, therefore I tried fo reboot the phone. When I rebooted the phone, it still asked for the passcode which didn't work the first time and still wouldn't work. Now my only option is to do hard reset on the phone. However, I still could not wipe my data for it is still asking me for the passcode which still did not work. Is there any way to fix this?

Welcome to Android Central!

How did you get into the phone's settings menu (or anything else for that matter) without using face unlock or the lockscreen passcode?

I have a similar issue. I have a Samsung Grand Prime phone. After hard reset, its asking for the same google account info (email & password) that was used on the phone. I know the email but dont remember the password. There is an option to change password. But even after changing password, a message pops up "unable to sign in, password was recently changed. try after 24 hrs" No luck after 24hrs.
At this point, how to do a factory reset so the phone is completely wiped clean?

Forgetting your pattern/PIN/password to your phone is like forgetting the combination to your safe -- you're pretty much out of luck. Treat your phone pattern/PIN/password like it was a combination to a safe -- do whatever it takes to remember it, if you're bad at remembering important things like this. Write it down and keep it somewhere secure at home, if you have to.

good day,
i have same issue on my OPPO A3S, i also forgot my pass code.
Then i try to hard reset with the combination key button, then when i click the wipe date,
it is still have a lock screen .

Please help me for this matter, for now i cannot use my OPPO A3S.

thank you

Welcome to Android Central! It's asking for the same PIN, or is it asking for your Google account and password?

hard reset
"Hard reset" and "soft reset" are Android terms, and don't have exact definitions. If you're trying to reset (or restart or reboot - all mean the same) the phone, just hold the power button in until you get a prompt, then choose Restart.

If you're trying to restore the phone to out-of-the-box condition, you need the Google password for the Google account the phone is on. If you forget that, try Google Account Recovery. (A lot of people come here with stolen phones asking how to get into them - by saying that they forgot their password. If you don't know the Google account login and password, you have a paperweight, and there's nothing you can do about it, unless you can prove, at the above link, that the account is yours.)

Welcome.

First, do you know the Google account name and password associated with the phone?

Welcome.

You have repeated what was said in the first post, four years ago. Is there a reason for that?

How about you describe your issue in your own words?
