Android media volume drops and returns
Whenever im watching youtube clips or listening to music , the sound on my android Galaxy Note 4 32GB drops. It does not get muted and the volume bar does not get toggled like some other people have been describing. After 3-20seconds the volume returns to its original intensity. I have tried restarting the phone and turning off all other apps but it does not change anything. Can you help?
Re: Android media volume drops and returns
Welcome to Android Central! Does this only happen when headphones are plugged in, or any time? Does it persist in Safe Mode? https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-28897. Or after a cache partition wipe? https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-28932
Re: Android media volume drops and returns
The problem occurs both with and without headphones. However, it does not occur in safe mode
Re: Android media volume drops and returns
The fact that it doesn't happen in Safe Mode indicates that it's due to some app you installed. What do you mean that it still happened after "turning off all other apps"? You may have to uninstall apps one by one until the problem goes away.
Re: Android media volume drops and returns
Thank you for ur response. I meant that when not in safe mode it occurs even if i only have one thing running as opposed to multiple things running at the same time. Ill try uninstalling my apps one at a time. Is it possible that an update to an app or service caused it?
Re: Android media volume drops and returns
Just because you only have one app active doesn't mean there aren't other apps open and paused in RAM (in fact, that's how Android works -- the system doesn't like having empty RAM, so it will open apps automatically in to RAM).
It's certainly possible that an update to one of your apps or a system update caused the issue. Have you had a system update recently, and can you identify that as when the problem started?
Re: Android media volume drops and returns
I think the problem ocurred after an update. So its very possible-based on what you are saying-that that was the cause.
Re: Android media volume drops and returns
It's still worth wiping the cache partition, if you haven't already. The link is in my post no. 2 above.
Re: Android media volume drops and returns
Hello,
I have the very same issue with my Galaxy note 4 since the last 2 days
Usually happens when I scroll through instagram or youtube videos
Had to lock and unlock my phone to get it to work but a few seconds later it goes mute again
Opening my music app and playing a a song would fix the issue immediately but that too has stopped working
Have you found a fix?
