Android Central Question

I have a Samsung galaxy note 8 and Bluetooth connects to audio calls and not music

Welcome to Android Central! Which Bluetooth device are you using? Go to Settings>Bluetooth, tap the gear icon next to that device in the list, and make sure Media Audio is turned on.

I have the same problem, when I connect to the device icon, It only shows audio call on/ioff not media. It was possible before...
I have a Galaxy Tab 8''

I had this same problem when i was trying to connect to my KENWOOD car audio system. However, later i found that from the car audio i need to select Bluetooth again as the playing option (i.e. like CD, USB, Radio). Once i selected that from the car audio, my phone allowed me to enable media play option. Hope this helps.

My situation is the opposite. I connect media audio, but not phone audio. I go into settings, select phone audio, and it immediately disconnects the phone audio. I've disconnected the pairing, and re-paired it. What am I missing?

Go to the car player, select the Bluetooth connected device, open the connections and enable Media Audio. Then you can enable the Media Audio on your phone under the collected Bluetooth device

I have the same problem and that solution doesn't work. I go to the gear icon and it shows access contacts "on" but call and media audio are both off. When I click either of them to "on" it goes grey for about 8 seconds and then automatically turns back off.

Welcome to Android Central! What Bluetooth device are you trying to connect? Do you also have a Note8, or something different?

Hi, I had this problem with my car. I used to play music with no problems. After I connected to my earphones my car suddenly rejects media connections and only allows phone calls.

My Phone is Huawie Nova 3e

Welcome to Android Central! I agree with Galactic Zoo. But are you saying that even after you disconnect your Bluetooth earphones, the phone can't re-connect with the car's Bluetooth for media audio?

If you forget the Bluetooth earphones and then connect with the car stereo again, do you get the Media Audio option back again?

Welcome to Android Central! Did you already try the things suggested in this thread, like forgetting the Bluetooth device and then re-pairing it?

Which phone do you have? Does this happen with any Bluetooth media device (i.e., headphones, speakers, etc.) or only your car stereo?
