Android Central Question

I've had my note 4 for quite some time and i'd like to update to at least android version 5.0. I checked my current version and it says i am at version 4.3. I want to be able to access certain apps and it says i need to have android v.5.0 at least and i want to fix that. When i check for updates it says my android is already up to date and i don't know how else to update, please help.

Manufacturers only provide updates for a fixed amount of time. Yes, the core Android system is constantly being developed, but then the manufacturers have to make that work on their devices with their specific unique touches, like themes and custom apps. So basically what this means is that Samsung no longer supports the Note 4 to provide any updates.

Your only possible option, which may not even exist, is to search for custom ROMS for your phone that have a newer version of Android. Keep in mind these would've been developed by individuals and not Samsung. That means there's always a risk when installing it and questions about whether it'll work right for you. If this option is out there in the wild somewhere, you then have to decide if you want to take on the task of installing it due to how many additional steps you'll need to do
