LG G4 sluggish on wifi or mobile data startup

[Android Central Question]

For a while now when I first turn on either mobile data or wifi the phone becomes very sluggish and unresponsive for several minutes and then returns to normal operation.

I've disabled or uninstalled every app I don't use. Have most notifications turned off. Cleared cache but have not done a reset.

Any ideas?

Welcome to Android Central! Does this happen after the phone has been disconnected from the web for a while? If so, things might be slowing down as everything syncs. I see this on my old Nexus 7.

It does it whether or not sync is turned on. I finally did a reset yesterday and that fixed the problem although I have way too many hours in since getting things back the way I want them.
