Messages sent from laptop do not show up on phone?

[Android Central Question]

BACKGROUND:

I've just installed message+ on my Samsung G7 and Verizon Messages on my laptop. In addition, I've subscribed to Verizon's cloud service and my phone contacts have been backed up.

QUESTION:

When I send a text message from my Laptop, the message (I just sent) does not display on my G7. Can I sync the two devices such that messages I send on one device show up as [sent] messages on the other?

The normal operation is that received texts can show up on more than one app, but sent texts can't. I don't know if Verizon Messages is using something other than SMS, which could allow that, but SMS, unless you include yourself in the To box, doesn't do that.
