Wait - she gets a message that she can't send a text when you send her a text?
Make sure that neither of you is blocking the other one's number. If you're not, go to first her carrier - together, with both your phones - and if they can't find the problem, to your carrier.
About the only situation in which I can see this whole thing happening is if you're requesting a read receipt and she has a problem sending texts or you're blocking her texts. If neither of you has changed anything since yesterday, that's not the case, so it has to be a carrier change, so whichever carrier made a change has to change it back.
