Hi guys, I've just switched to a Pixel 2 after 10 years of iPhones, so forgive me if I seem a little green. Just trying to get used to the way Androids work!

I'm having some issues with uploading to Instagram (and other social media) from Google Photos.

On iPhone, I used to look through all the photos I'd taken on a trip, tap the 'favourite' button on the ones I wanted to post to social media, then go into Instagram (/FB/Twitter), select my Favourites folder, and they'd all be there.

I just tried this on my new Pixel and discovered that, although there is a 'favourite' function in Google Photos, the Favourites folder isn't a LOCAL device folder, and therefore that folder isn't accessible from Instagram.

What I'd like to know is - is there a way of either:
    - Making the Favourites folder local on the device?
    - Or creating a new local folder on the device which I can move favourite photos to?

I'm aware that it's possible to share individual photos from Google Photos to Instagram or Facebook, but this doesn't seem possible with multiple photos.

Any help would be great, thanks!

It's not a folder at all, it's an attribute of the particular picture file.

Since Android doesn't work that way, no.

Use any file manager app (there are many in Play) to create a folder and name it Favorites (or Favourites). then copy pictures you want to sent in your apps to that folder. Once they've been sent, delete them. (Or eventually you'll end up with all your pictures in that folder, and it won't be any different than it is now. Also, don't Move files on any computer. If a move fails at the wrong point, you can lose both the original and the copy. If a copy fails, you lose only the copy, and you can copy it again. Once you have a good copy, you can delete the original if you wanted to move it.)

That's up to the app you're using, not the system behind it. But Android Facebook and iPhone Facebook aren't kept in sync. (Neither are most apps that have been written for both environments - there's too much difference between the environments to just copy a change from one to the other, it usually has to be written from scratch.)
