I would still say that 1 GB of RAM today is just not enough. One app wouldn't use it all, but the OS itself will still use a fair bit of it. I remember when my Bionic (also 1 GB of RAM) was at the end of its usable life, even running it bare bones became a nightmare. The OS was constantly fighting to free up RAM, and it dragged the entire system to a near halt many times. Most apps don't use 1GB of RAM, but you need more if you want to be running more than 1 app at a time. But Android handles hat too. At most, you can have 2 apps running in the foreground, and Android will kill apps that are in the background if it needs more space, so the phone should work without any problem. Just make sure that you use the Back button, not the Home button, when you're finished with an app. Using the Home button leaves the app running and using RAM.
