Brand new Samsung galaxy tab A won’t connect to internet.

Trying to go into google play to download an app and ‘there was a problem communicating with google servers. Try again later.
Brand new device, have done nothing but follow set up and this is the first app I’ve tried to add. Also when I tried going on a website ie Amazon it says web page is not available. It’s showing that I am connected to WiFi at home and other devices are working perfectly ok.?

Welcome to Android Central! Does it work on any other wi-fi network (like at your local library or coffeeshop)? Do any apps access the web successfully at all?
