Android Central Question

Untill recently i could buy a track from play store and it would appear in the music folder recently added. But now the only place i can see or play it from is the play music app. I was under the impression that if i purchased the track that i would have the right to use it on another device which is what i have normally done (usb for car). Untill i upgraded the operating system. Confused.

If it's DRM-protected (and that's up to the copyright holder), you only buy the right to play it on the device for which it was bought. If it isn't, you can play it on any device.

Welcome to Android Central! A user has never been able to purchase a music track from the Google Play Store and download it directly to the phone to be directly manipulated by the user. Any music downloaded using the Play Music app is for offline use by the app only, and wont show up in any user-accessible directories. In order to get the music track as a discrete mp3 file on your phone, you have to download it on your computer from your Play Music library website, then transfer that mp3 file to the phone.
