I've paid for two play store films and both have not played using the mirror share function. The screen goes black and it says it can't play "premium content on the screen as it is not secure". I've tried changing settings and linking the screen in the play store app but it says its sending a code which never appears.

What screen? How are you trying to stream the content to the screen?

Paid videos sell you the right to play them on one device. Many of them won't play if you try to mirror them.

For some reason streaming while mirroring is blocked by most streaming companies. You either watch on your own screen or use a proper casting device like a Chromecast.
