There are ads and app icons on my lock screen and I don't want them there, what can I do to get rid of them?

These come from an app that you installed, unfortunately. The only way to get rid of them is to disable the option for the lockscreen add-on on the app or uninstall said app completely. Usual culprits include File Managers and Battery Optimizers. Have you installed any of these lately? Or have they been updated (sometimes an update will force the setting into the 'on' position). In any case, on the lockscreen as you have it now, do you see a menu button or a settings icon (cog) somewhere? Or a running notification before you swipe it away?
