How does one dele an apple id

[Android Central Question]

My new iphone has automatically used my apple id which I am not able to use as the email address it was attached to has been deleted, I have no password for it and I cannot remember the recovery email address. I need to delete the apple id so I can use my new apple id. Does anyone know how I can delete my old apple id without an email address or password to get into the apple id?

It seems without deleting the apple id I will not be able to use my new iPhone features.

I don't know how to delete an Apple ID, may need to contact Apple to have it actually deleted entirely.

Now if you just want it removed from the phone, you should be able to just remove the ID in settings using the Apple ID password(same one you use to download apps). Once it's removed you can create and sign in with a new ID using a current email.

I haven't touched an iOS device in over a year, so I'm not able to provide step by step directions.
