Okay so I replaced the screen on my Moto Z, my friend replace the screen on his one plus one and they both have the exact same issue. If you hold them in one hand you can type and swipe and do anything and they work perfectly, but if you leave them on a surface they glitch out madly when you tried to use the touchscreen.

I can't Find anything on the Internet to explain this.. the closest I've come is people saying put a screen protector over it.

I can't reasonably think that it's a flex issue the moto z has a heavy duty stainless steel chassis and I have a backup battery on it but nothing else makes sense.. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Cam.

My guess is something was either knocked loose or not reconnected properly. These screens respond to electrical impulses to register your touches. Anything that disrupts this will cause your problem. Bad grounding, loose connections, bad USB cables, etc can all be suspect.
