Why my phone sends a text message to someone when actually I m not sending them from my phone?

I am not sending messages from my phone and number to someone but someone sends messages to my friends from my number...and in the reality I m not send to them text messages....is third person use my duplicate number to send message to my friend without using my phone? What's going on? Why this is happening? Is someone hack my phone?

Welcome to Android Central! Are they spam messages, or nonsense gibberish? Or are they meaningful communications? If it's spam, then a spammer is probably spoofing your number. Are these SMS messages or messages on different platform (like FB Messenger or WhatsApp)?
