Why the number of notifications on apps disappears

I have a samsung galaxy A8 2018.When a notification used to come up i swept it and normally the numbers od thw notifications I had stayed at tye app.Now,all of a sudden if I swipe away a notification on the lock screen, it disappears from the app too.What is going on?How can I change it back?

Sounds like you got the Oreo update. That's the way things work with that OS.
