Is Walmart Family Mobile still T-Mobile?

Regarding Jerry Hildenbrand's 1 Nov. 2017 article on using Family Mobile to test T-Mobile, I see complaints on the Walmart site that say FM is now supported by TracFone, even though "T-Mobile" is still printed all over the SIM and activation packages. Is this still a valid test of T-Mobile? Many thanks!

Yes...and no. The plan still uses T-Mobile's network, but the brand was purchased by TracFone (you can see the Contact information for Walmart's Family Mobile as TracFone, and an excerpt from their ToS).

Another test of T-Mobile would be MintSIM. A few other volunteers here have tried that service and stuck with it...
