No sound while charging Pixel XL

Hey guys,
I've been experiencing a strange issue with my Pixel XL since I bought it last year. Whenever I plug it into the charger the sounds of phone calls and social media notifications disappear. Few days ago I upgraded to Pie but the issue is still present - I can manually turn on the sounds but as soon as I lock the phone, sounds are turned off automatically.

Do you have the Pixel 2? Sometimes when the port gets water damaged (say like steamed air from a hot shower), it can think it's plugged into headphones and all the audio will get routed that way. Try plugging in the usb type c headphoens and see if you get audio when doing that. That is what's causing it in my opinion. To fix this, you can try using 99% alcohol and a cotton cleaning swap with a paper clip. Be sure not to scratch the pins.

Or try a reflash with Deuces' & sixohtew's Bootloop-Recovery (if you've unlocked the bootloader - or are willing to). Say "no" to wiping user data at the end.
