Android Central Question

Hi,, I have been using an external hard drive with my Tab S2 for the past year. Up until now it has been fine, able to access files and play content straight from the drive, but all of a sudden it has completely stopped working. No power, drive not spinning etc.. The hdd is usb powered, usb3, 2tb formatted to fat32.
I have searched the internet but info on this is very limited and all I can seam to find is that hdd must have separate power source, Although my one has been by tablet power. Any help appreciated!!

Hopefully you didn't burn out a contact or two on the USB connector in the S2. But yes, the drive has to be externally powered. There are cables and adapters that do that. Look on Amazon for powered sata cable.
