After dropping his phone, my son heard a slight rattle coming from his LG5 phone.
After taking out the battery, I found a small piece from what seems the logic board. I opened the casing and it seems to be a small tab located at the bottom of the long portion of the logic board. It seems to be near where the battery links to the logic board. [I could send a photo if possible]. Would anything happen if this piece is missing? Would I be able to charge the phone? Please advise.

Is there any copper on the piece (front or back)? If not, it's just part of the physical design of the board (maybe a tab used by one of the machines that picks the board up, or positions the board in the phone).

If there's copper on the board, the motherboard has to be replaced. The battery may charge, but something else won't work. they don't put copper on the board because they have spare copper, every microgram of copper is there for a reason.
