S9 Plus Edge Screen Notification Light

[Android Central Question]

I like my phone on Do Not Disturb mode, even when I had a Samsung s7 Edge. I liked how the edge would light up when my phone is faced down but it seems like on the s9 Plus, they don't do that anymore? Is there away around this? I tried playing with it and it seems like the edge only lights up on notifications when it's NOT on Do Not Disturb mode. Very sad about this because I get a bunch of unimportant calls all day and night so I strongly prefer it on Do Not Disturb mode but also I can see the light of what app I received a messaged from when studying and if I was waiting on something important so it's more noticeable. Help!!
