Android Central Question

Can someone tell the steps to see what is on my SD card on my Galaxy S9....

There are steps online, but they are generic steps.

--Can someone tell me the steps specific to the Galaxy S9, in order to view the SD card contents?

--Also, do I need to have an SD card?.... I am asking because I wonder if it poses a risk, if your phone is stolen....can someone get information by taking the SD card?

thank you,

Jason

Welcome to Android Central! You should be able to use the My Files file manager app to explore the SD card. I don't have an S9, so I can't give you the exact steps, but it should be self-explanatory. This article might help: https://m.wikihow.com/Access-Your-Samsung-Galaxy-S's-Files

The best use of the SD card is to store media files like photos, videos, and music files (but I wouldn't use it as the only place you store these files, if they're important to you -- SD cards can fail without much notice). So if you save sensitive media files to the card, then someone could conceivably get that information by stealing the card. But they can't get passwords or other sensitive user settings from the card.
