I have a Pixel 2 running Android Pie. Today I noticed that the battery indicator had turned red while the charge was at 34%. I rebooted it, no difference. So I plugged it in to charge for a bit. The charge is now at 64%. Whenever I unplug it from the charger, the indicator turns red again. Anyone familiar with this issue?

I've got exactly the same situation, only noticed it for the first time this evening.

I've just noticed the battery saver is on, never switched it on before, my battery was at 47%. Switching it off solved the issue.

Just picked up my phone and noticed the same thing. Pixel 2 XL

Edit to add: Check your battery saver settings. I found this - https://productforums.google.com/for...hone-by-google and after reading it went to check mine and found that battery saver somehow got set to turn on at 99%. I just flat turned it off as I never let the battery get to a point where it's an issue.

Also figured out that it was the battery saver, which was set to turn on automatically at 99%. The strange thing is that I have never set anything at this setting.

Hi, I've had the exact same problem this week and, like other users, was able to solve it by fiddling with my battery saver settings.

I will note that deactivating battery saver from the pull-down menu did not work; I had to go to Settings. Also the battery saver was set at 15% where I had left it ( and the icon was still on, and voice commands were deactivated, at a charge level of >70%).

I readjusted battery saver settings and turned the feature off. Sure enough, it works fine now, and I can go back to talking to my phone again.
