I have a ZTE Z998 which is rooted but does not have a custom recovery. I installed Xposed framework and a mod. Upon installing the mod, the phone rebooted. It goes to the at&t logo and will not go any further. I have access to my stock recovery but that's it. Plus I'm in the military on maneuvers without acess to a computer. I wanted to know if I can install a custom recovery using a SD card from stock recovery?

Unfortunately, no, you have to do it using adb and fastboot (and a driver for the phone). But in the event that you get access to a laptop or desktop for a while, this is a link to an article with links to the files you'll need (I checked them - they're still there).
