Custom Auto-Correct?

[Android Central Question]

New to android.. In iOS i could add a word to dictionary with a shortcut like : omw = On my way! - so all i had to type was omw and it would change it. Can I do that? I cant seem to find it anywhere

Welcome to Android Central! I don't know if this is possible with the stock keyboard from LG, but with Gboard, you can go to its settings, then Dictionary>Personal Dictionary>English. There, you can tap the + button to enter a word or phrase and its corresponding shortcut. When you type that shortcut, you'll see the word or phrase appear as a suggestion, which you can then tap. But unfortunately, it won't automatically replace your shortcut as soon as you type it in.
