I have Mi Note 4 dual sim card phone. From sim2(Jio) I can send a message of full limit of characters. But from sim1(Idea) the limit is reducing day by day. First I was able to send full character messages. Then message stopped being sent from sim1 showing the "message could not send". I then reduced the message by some 10 characters after which I was able to send the message. After few days, again message stopped being sent. Again I reduced some more characters and then the messages could be sent. The message from sim2(Jio) was able to send with full character limit from day one. Don't know whats the problem with sim1. Is there any setting to set the character limit for message?

Welcome to Android Central! All SMS messages are limited to 160 characters. The messaging app will convert messages >160 characters to an MMS message automatically -- but MMS requires mobile data to be on. If your mobile data isn't on, or if the reception is poor, then it might have problems sending.
