Asus Chromebook Flip C100 hdmi audio output dragging

Been using the Flip to stream in Developer Mode, using Kodi and other apps, via the hdmi. Couple of days ago, the stream now pauses every couple of seconds and the audio is at about 1/4 speed. Tried a new cable, different TV and still have the same problem. As soon as I disconnect the hdmi cable, all is good. Any ideas
