If your setting is on original for google photos (pixel 2), your pictures on google photos will be original size and it wont take up your storage? It shows i have 13gb, im wondering if i swtich from High quality to original if that storage will get taken up?

I'm trying to figure out why my pixel 2 isn't saving as original size on my Google photos. I'm guessing it's because on my settings it's on high quality, but I'm afraid if I switch it to original if it'll take up my storage.

I'm guessing if I switch my settings to original that it won't take up storage since I have a pixel 2?

If it does take up storage, then how do I get my Google photos saved as original for free withy pixel 2?

    Thanks in advanced

    High quality:

    Unlimited free storage
Photos are compressed to save space. If a photo is larger than 16 MP, it will be resized to 16 MP.
Videos higher than 1080p will be resized to high-definition 1080p. A video with 1080p or less will look close to the original.

    Original quality:

    Limited free storage (15GB)
All photos and videos are stored in the same resolution that you took them.
Recommended for photos that have more than 16MP and videos with more than 1080p.
