    Welcome to Android Central! It's an old tablet, so there haven't been any official system updates for a while now. Since it's old, the hardware is pretty obsolete, so a certain degree of poor performance is to be expected for modern apps. However, try wiping the cache partition to see if that helps: https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-18908

    What Android version is it on now? I'm not seeing that model number but you can check on http://sammobile.com to see if there's a version beyond what's on your device.

    Updating to a newer version of Android may not speed it up. Clearing the cache partition might be of more help, or just a wipe and start over.

    It should be running 4.0. Ice Cream Sandwich - Verizon-specific tabs don't usually get any updates, they were just a freebie to get you to switch to Verizon.
