    A friend gave me his old Droid Maxx2 phone and i want to use straight talk,when he had the phone his provider was verizon but he said the phone is unlocked and i can use any carrier..how do i do this

    Straight Talk isn't a carrier, they're a "Mobile Virtual Network Operator - MVNO. They buy wholesale time blocks from carriers and resell them as single accounts, but you're still using the carriers' towers, so it's still the carriers' rules.

    Sigh up with them, choosing the carrier you prefer. (Check with others to see which carrier gives you signal where you need signal. They're not all the same. But check specific spots - your couch, not the street in front of your house. Your desk at work, not somewhere else in the building.)
