Android Central Question

The s9 plus rear camera is horribly auto smoothing the skin and losing all the details. Is there any way to disable it please? Apparently there are no obvious setting which can disable it but looking for any hidden setting in safe mode etc. Highly disappointed after buying it and surprisingly no reviewers are warning about it

Are you sure you're not using any filters (magic wand at the bottom of the viewfinder) or aren't in Auto Mode? I have no issue with skin smoothing with the rear camera (quite the opposite). The only mode that has that is the Selfie Camera and you can see the 'Beauty Mode' icon pop up in the viewfinder to tweak the effect or turn off completely.

You can try disabling face shape correction for the rear camera but don't think that's what's causing it (also not sure if that option is in the S9 camera or if it's just the Note line)

No I am not using any filters and I am capturing in auto mode. Changing to pro mode and adjusting ISO, shutter speed and aperture is also time taking especially when I try to capture my kid. Also tried disabling the face correction option, disabling HDR but no luck

I got a response from Samsung members forum that this is how their camera manufacturer created it. Well it can be given as an option to enable/disable just like the front camera. Even if I try to capture my palm it randomly touches the photo and smoothes the skin at few places. I can only wish Samsung provides an update to disable it for the users who don't like auto correction of photos
