Trouble syncing e-mail, calendar and contacts with an Exchange account

[Android Central Question]

I'd prefere using the Outlook app for the mail (and NOT as the calendar app), but adding the account to that app will only show mail and calender data in that (Outlook) app. If I want to use, which I really do, another calendar app, my Exchange account doesn't show.
So, I went to "Cloud and accounts" and then "accounts" and added the account as a "gmail Exchange". Now DigiCal gets synced! But, I don't want to use the gmail app for e-mails, I want to see them in Outlook! Is that possible?
