Android Central Question

Hello, my touchscreen of my J7 2017 is completely damaged, broken etc.. Actually there is no screen anymore at all.

But my phone it selves seemes to be ok. I can see it on my windows computer. I still can take pictures, I hear program sounds and even the alarm is still ok.

But I want to turn of my phone?

How can I do that?

Welcome to Android Central! Press and hold Power and Vol Down for about 20 seconds -- that should force a shutdown.

I tried holding down the power button for a minute on my device (Vivo Nex S) and was unable to force a shut down. For me I HAD to touch the screen to complete the shutdown or restart. I also tried a few button combos, which also did not work. Maybe cut your losses? Backup the phone on your PC using Samsung Smart Switch, then buy a new one! Restore to the new phone. :)

The rule of thumb for me is that all Android device except Samsung can be forced to shut down by pressing Power for long enough (usually about 20 seconds). Samsung requires Power and Vol Down, because Samsung.:p
