Is my car too old for my phone?

I have a 2008 Ford Edge which paired perfectly to my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. However, I recently purchased a Samsung Note 9 and have tried for the phone to search for Sync as well as the Sync to search for the phone, both to no avail. I am technologically challenged sometimes but am curious if my car is too old for my phone?

If you're Bluetooth worked with the s7, it should work with the new one. Try deleting every phone and contact list from your car. Then try a fresh install. You may need to refresh your steps needed to pair up on an older car.
