I recently just got an LG G7 and noticed that the phone is using a crazy amount of LTE data for very basic things. If i'm browsing on chrome, it uses up 3-5mb of data a minute for simple web browsing on the typical sites that I visit (mostly forums). I thought it was a chrome issue, until I tried mozilla firefox, where the phone used up 16mb in 3 min for simple webpage browsing!

    Any idea what gives?

Welcome to Android Central! That is not an unusual amount of data. Read this article: https://www.wired.com/2016/04/averag...original-doom/. Websites with lots of ads (like ours) usually use even more data.

If you're concerned about data usage, turn on Chrome's Data Saver feature. Open Chrome, tap Menu>Settings>Data Saver.
