Why is my Pixel Stand not displaying my photos?

Hey Guys. I just received my new Pixel 3 XL and Pixel Stand. Everything is working great with the exception of my Pixel Stand not displaying my photos when charging. I have tried troubleshooting with no success. I have gone to previously connected devices, forgotten the device and tried anew. The only option that shows up for the Pixel Stand is for the screen to turn off when in a dark room. There are no other options. From what I have seen there should be more options, namely for the photos to be displayed. I've tried going through Google Assistant and exploring the settings as well. The option to display my photos through ambient display is checked on but nothing happens. I try selecting "Select Google Photos album" but again, nothing happens. Is anyone else having this issue? Am I missing something? Hopefully there's a fix to this soon. I love everything else, I just really want my photos displayed on my Pixel Stand. Thanks in advance!
